Mike Kaufman

Adjunct Professor
Mike Kaufman is an adjunct professor at Charleston School of Law. He has 40+years of experience in a labor and employment law, with a focus on representing management in union campaigns, negotiations of collective bargaining agreements and arbitration of disputes with union members.

Experience & Activities

His clients have included public employers, a large metropolitan county, a county school system, a large cable company and a Georgia resort.

Kaufman has also successfully tried many employment discrimination cases to verdict in Georgia and other states. Mike graduated from Furman University where he played collegiate baseball for four years, was All-Southern Conference Honorable Mention his junior year and co-captain his senior year.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1976. He is licensed in Georgia and South Carolina and has received many honors, including Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating since 1982 and has been recognized in the Judicial Edition of Martindale-Hubbell since 2018. Kaufman is a former partner at Thompson, Mann & Hutson, Alston & Bird and Troutman Sanders.
