Mikaila Matt is a graduate of Coe College in Iowa. She was involved in campus and community activities. Matt also volunteered at Kids First Law Center where she taught children about divorce in an age-appropriate manner.

In 2016, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina to attend the Charleston School of Law where she served as a Senior Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Department, Associate Editor-in-Chief of Resolved, and Editor-in-Chief of MALABU.

During law school, Matt clerked for Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services and a local family law firm before graduating in the top 15% of her law school class, gaining valuable experience before she became a licensed attorney.

She loves to travel, cook, and hang out with her boxer-pointer mix puppy.
