Emily Guerrero
Experience & Activities
Before joining the Charleston School of Law, she spent more than a decade as the Director of Catholic Charities Office of Immigration Services in Charleston. As the Director, she managed four immigration legal services offices around the state, as well as representing immigrants in their immigration law matters.
Previously, Guerrero worked as a Staff Attorney at South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center in Columbia where she focused on systemic advocacy on behalf of low-income South Carolinians, concentrating in the areas of elder, family, and immigration law.
She graduated from University of South Carolina School of Law and participated in many pro-bono opportunities there through the Children’s Law Office and Protection and Advocacy for People with Disabilities. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University.
Guerrero is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, as well as serving on the Board of Directors at Lighthouse Immigration Services. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband and two children.
