Podcast: Wellness and the Law Series

The Charleston School of Law Podcast invites you to listen to our three-part podcast series on Wellness and the Law.

Wellness is one of the priority strategic initiatives that Charleston School of Law invested in this academic year in response to the alarming trends of mental health and substance abuse challenges in the legal field.

The American Bar Association (ABA) recently published a survey of 3,300 law students across 15 schools. The reasearch revealed that 37% of the respondants admitted to suffering from anxiety; 25% are considered in the ‘at-risk’ category for alcoholism; and, 17% suffer from depression.

The Charleston School of Law is a partner with the South Carolina Bar to implement the program Lawyers Helping Lawyers that assists law students, alumni and legal professionals who are experiencing substance abuse disorders, mental health illnesses and/or stress-related issues that affect their personal and professional well-being.

If you are a law student, an attorney, an alum, or work in the legal profession and you feel like you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, mental or substance abuse we encourage you to reach out. Here are some contacts to help you get started:
