VOLUNTEERING FOR CURE
Students from the Charleston School of Law raised the most money of any Charleston team participating in the weekend Race for the Cure on Daniel Island. Students raised $5,795 in what they say will be an annual fund-raising effort. (Photo by Reid Cox.)


STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
First-year students, second-year students and faculty collected more than $2,000 within a couple of weeks to give to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

HELPING HANDS
Associate Dean John Benfield accepts an $70 Katrina Relief check from 5-year-old Carter Marchbanks, daughter of 2-L student Charles Marchbanks. Carter, a student at the O'Quinn School on James Island, raised the money over a weekend afternoon by selling lemonade at a stand. She wanted the law school to use the money for hurricane relief.
