Fall 2008 Graduation information

More than two dozen students will celebrate December graduation on Dec. 14, 2008. Below is information on the ceremony and reception that you might find helpful:

Ceremony: Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Charleston Museum Auditorium, 360 Meeting Street.

Time: The ceremony begins promptly at 2 p.m. Graduates should assemble in the Courtyard at the Charleston Museum NO LATER THAN 1 p.m. A group photo will be taken at this time. All guests should be seated no later than 1:45 p.m.

Tickets: Admission is free and unlimited.

Attire: School of Law regalia: tam, tassel, gown, and hood. See Dean Benfield to order regalia. Honor cords and pro bono cords will be distributed before the ceremony.

  • Under the robe you should wear comfortable clothing. You will want to be appropriately dressed for the reception once you remove your robe. Gentlemen should wear a tie. Do not wear a suit jacket under the robe.

  • What not to wear/bring: sunglasses, croakies, purses, cell phones, flip flops, or jackets (men).

Photos: Classic Photo will be taking pictures of each graduate as they cross the stage. Please complete a Classic Photo information card if you are interested in ordering pictures. See Graham Ervin.

Reception: There will be a reception for family and friends in the School of Law Barrister following the Ceremony. Please let Graham Ervin know approximately how many guests you expect to attend.

Graduation Checklist:

  • Complete Graduation Application and Bar Certification Registration forms (see attachments) and submit to Kim Duroncelet.
  • Order Ceremony Regalia, Invitations and Class Ring (see Dean Benfield).
  • Complete Classic Photography Information Card (see Graham Ervin).
  • Notify Graham Ervin of expected number of guests attending the reception.
  • Confirm completion of pro bono requirement with Michelle Condon.
