L.S. Simpkins

Director of Diversity Initiatives
Simpkins, who has served as an adviser to several
African nations on constitutional law, joins the faculty in 2005
to teach the subject to second-year students.
Most recently, he has served as a political science
professor at Furman University.
Prior to that, he was in private practice in Washington,
D.C., and worked as a consultant in Africa to promote democratic
institutions and to help elected officials understand and build
constitutions.
