Reference and Outreach Services Librarian

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for the full-time position of Reference and Outreach Services Librarian. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.  The Reference and Outreach Services Librarian will be responsible for creating, supervising, and maintaining the library’s online presence, including its website, social media and blog, maintaining, supporting, and testing the proxy server for online resources, coordinating management of electronic resources with the IT Director, supervising inter-library loans, and providing research and reference assistance to CSOL faculty, students, staff, and other library patrons.  In addition, the position carries formal and informal teaching responsibilities and assists with the preparation of instructional reference/research materials, including subject bibliographies, and library.  Must represent the CSOL in local, regional and national meetings as requested by the library director.  May be requested to teach small LRAW section, skills course or doctrinal class as an adjunct professor; additional compensation will be provided for this.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1.       ABA accredited J.D. and ALA accredited M.L.S./M.I.L.S. degrees required;
2.   Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer skills are required;
3.   Organizational skills, effective communication, and a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality are essential;

4.   Ability to work effectively with others as a team player;

5.   Ability to teach in first year Legal Research, Analysis and Writing program;

6.   Academic law library experience preferred.
